Energy Conservation Technologies, Rebates, and Financing
Jim will review common energy conservation technologies such as lighting, HVAC equipment and controls, motors, and variable speed drives. He will give a high level overview of the technologies with a focus on newer and innovative developments. He will let the audience know what to expect regarding implementation costs, energy savings and paybacks.
Sources of energy efficient equipment rebates and financing will be identified. Utility "Direct Install" programs, prescriptive rebates, PJM energy efficiency and demand response programs, and financing vehicles will be discussed.
Attendees are encouraged to bring specific questions regarding energy technologies they are currently evaluating.Questions regarding "energy myths" such as "Does it take more energy to bring a building back up to temperature than you save by turning the thermostat back at night?" will be answered and explained.
