"The Golden Triangle's industrial development efforts will be in the national spotlight Sunday evening as an episode of CBS' 60 Minutes profiles Golden Triangle Development LINK CEO Joe Max Higgins."
The CBS program aired on Dec. 4, 2016 and we can anticipate a topic on industry (job) trends; how this "unlikely place" was able to attract and sustain manufacturing jobs; and some suggestions that we can all use to help sustain our existing, local industries.
Joe Max Higgins, Jr., is CEO of the Golden Triangle Development Link, having served in this capacity since 2003.
Higgins has completed 130 major community and economic development projects resulting in the creation of nearly 15,000 manufacturing jobs and over six billion dollars in industrial investments. He has also worked on numerous commercial/retail developments as well as hundreds of millions in community development improvements.
He is nationally certified as a planner, community and economic developer and environmental consultant.
His recent accolades include the LINK receiving the excellence in Economic Development Award from The Site Selectors Guild, Higgins being named Mega Developer of the year by the Tennessee Valley Authority and joining two other Mississippi developers in being named to Consultant Connect 50 Top North American Economic Developers.
In December of 2016, Higgins was featured on CBS News 60 Minutes focusing on the revitalization of the Golden Triangle and his aggressive and forward-thinking method of economic development. He was also named the 2016 Business Person of the Year by The Mississippi Business Journal.
