Bob's Bio

Overview:

This symposium will offer professionals operating academic facilities or providing solutions to academic facilities a comprehensive understanding of how to manage people and resources, particularly data, during a crisis.  The 2019 Academic Facility Symposium (AFS 2019) will feature an immersive, interactive presentation entitled “The Disaster Experience”.  The Disaster Experience is a half-day tabletop disaster simulation designed to give facility managers the experience of dealing with unexpected crisis and disruption. The AFS 2019 Disaster Experience will focus on a shelter-in-place scenario.  Attendees will enhance their crisis communications and decision-making skills while taking away the knowledge to improve their own disaster planning and response capabilities. Furthermore, during AFS 2019, attendees will gain detailed knowledge on securing data during a crisis and recovering data after a disaster.  Moreover, attendees will learn about some of the latest technology available to enhance safety within an academic facility.
