Within the past 10 years we have seen technology change how we live, work, play, and learn. These advances in technology have enabled humans to be more efficient as well as socially and environmentally conscious and connected. Advances in LED technology, Internet of Things (IoT), increasingly stringent energy codes, and evolving building standards (LEED, WELL, etc.) have expanded lighting’s role in our daily lives.
This talk will highlight these changes and explain their impact on the built environment and human perception and how it will continue to influence in the future. The presentation will also delve into the effectiveness and appropriate applications of ultraviolet light, specifically UV-C, a non-visible wavelength of light (radiant energy) effective in killing bacteria and viruses including coronaviruses.
