If you are not already an Active AFE Member at the time of applying, your fees will be set to the Non-Member price. As a non-member applicant, the exam fee includes a one-year complimentary membership* with AFE which allows you to engage with a local chapter or interest group in your area.

*Credential renewal fees do not include membership renewal.

After you complete your registration and payment, AFE will process your registration and provide you with access to your digital study materials so you can begin preparing. You will also receive a printed copy of the study materials shipped via UPS, with tracking information sent by email once your shipment is processed.

The CPS certification exam is completed online.

Candidates must earn a combined average of at least 70% across the two exam modules to pass. If you do not pass, your first retake opportunity is complimentary, but must be completed within 30 calendar days after AFE issues the official results notice.

We offer live online review courses two times a year. One in the fall and one in the spring.

Currently we are in open enrollment for our Fall 2026 online review session taking place November 3-5,2026.
