A Message from Your Chapter Board President

Welcome to the Rhode island Chapter - Rhody 63

I'm thrilled to welcome you to the Rhody 63 Chapter of The Association for Facilities Engineering! As a past president and the newly appointed Chapter President, We are excited to build this community together.

The Rhody 63 is not a new chapter, In 1995, The Rhody 63 Chapter went from the American Institute of Plant Engineers (AIPE) to the Association of Facilities Engineers (AFE). Since the pandemic, we have been slow to restart. With the help of other Past Presidents, We're starting a rapid rebuild, and that means it will take all of us working together to make this successful. Every member plays a vital role in the Rhody 63 revitalization. We are confident that together we can create something for our professional community for many years ahead.

There is a home here for Facilities Mangers and Contractors that can help us grow.

I look forward to meeting each of you and building a thriving AFE chapter that supports our professional growth and strengthens our community.

Leo J. Monty was a founding member The Boston Plant Engineers Club which became AIPE (American Institute of Plant Engineers) and is now AFE (Association for Facility Engineering). Leo was truly dedicated to the field of Plant Engineering and promoted education and networking among his colleagues. In his honor the Scholarship Fund issues scholarships to people pursuing degrees or certifications to advance their careers in Facility Engineering and Management as well as students pursuing studies in engineering related fields.

Scholarships for AFE Certification Programs are awarded throughout the year and can be applied for between May 1 and August 31 of every calendar year. Scholarships for college level courses are issued in September of each year and applications can be found on the link below and in the file menu.

The Leo J Monty Scholarship Fund is a 503C3 non-profit organization.
