HomeCertification Renewal

AFE Certification recognizes the highest degree of personal and professional advancement; therefore, it is essential to maintain your CPMM, CPE, or CPS throughout your career. An AFE Certification is valid for three (3) years. To maintain this respected designation, applicants must achieve a minimum number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from ongoing involvement in the field, continuing education, and professional activities. The certification renewal requirements for each program are listed in the Certification Renewal Guidelines for the individual programs.

To renew one's AFE certification, applicants should complete the Certification Renewal Application and return it with the filing fee to the Association for Facilities Engineering. Please include the courses, presentations, or other professional activities completed. The Certification Renewal Application is available as a PDF form that can be downloaded, filled in, and submitted. Submissions can be sent via email, fax, or post.

Renewal Application

* the CEU Verification is a supplemental form to the Certification Renewal Application. This should only be used if you decide to use the 90 day window to submit your CEUs after submitting your application. If applicable, this form should be sent to lgutierrez@afe.org within the above stated time window.

Certification Renewal applicants must submit their paperwork before their certification renewal date; there is no grace period for certification renewal. Individuals who submit their applications after the expiration of their certificates will be assessed a late fee. Please contact the AFE Certification Department at (571) 395-8772 if you are unsure of your certification renewal date.
