The Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) program teaches how to accurately diagnose and solve common problems encountered in most facilities.

Take Your Exam Online:

 

At the end of your course, you may take your certification exam online through our custom testing portal.  By choosing to take your certification exam online, you can use your WiFi capable laptop or tablet for testing.  Our online testing portal not only displays a running clock of the time remaining in the examination, but it also allows test takers to flag questions and receive score results in minutes of submitting the completed exam.  Online examinations will still be administered at the course site by an AFE proctor.  Please contact Gabriella Rodriguez at (571) 395-8772 prior to the beginning of your course to reserve your online examination. 



Earn a CPE Certification:



1. Check Eligibility

There are two ways in which you can qualify for the CPE (Eligibility Matrix):

 

Category A, you are eligible if you have a minimum of 4 years in management in plant/facility engineering (or) 6 years of work experience in field overall with a 4-yr degree in engineering, architecture or related field. If you do not have a qualifying degree, you must have a minimum of 6 years in management in plant/facility engineering (OR) 8 years of work experience in field overall.

 

Category B, you are eligible if you have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a registered professional engineer (PE). Category B applicants are exempt from the exam module you are licensed in


2. Apply

You can take the CPE exam at either (1) an AFE review program site or (2) at your workplace, using a proctor from your employer’s human resources. If that is not an option, a boss or supervisor may act as your proctor. If you take the exam at your facility you have two options, you can take it in either paper-based or on-line format. Test materials are forwarded to the proctor one day in advance of your exam date. Upon completion of the exam, the proctor will return the materials to the certification department for grading

Payment In Full In Advance Only
You can start your application process and receive your study materials with an initial payment of $225. Please contact Gabriella Rodriguez (571-395-8772) to submit your application and initial payment. Full payment is due by end of the registration period, which for this course will be Saturday, 8 June 2019 at 6pm EDT. The initial payment is non-refundable.

We only allow late registrations for certain circumstances. Please contact Gabriella Rodriguez to request late registration. Late registration will be subject to an additional $75 administrative fee for Members and $105 for Non-Members.
