Tour - Duke Energy -Belews Creek Steam Station Plant
About this event
Don’t miss this opportunity to visit the Belews Creek Steam Station is a 2.24-GW, two-unit coal-fired generating facility located on Belews Lake in Stokes County, North Carolina. It is Duke Energy’s largest coal-burning power plant in the Carolinas and consistently ranks among the most efficient coal facilities in the United States. In 2020 and 2021, natural gas was added to the station to allow up to 50% natural gas co-firing on both units. Co-firing allows the units to produce energy using either coal or natural gas, or a combination of these fuels, benefiting customers and the environment.
