Managers at all organizational levels, from the C-Suite to the front-line, must demonstrate proficiency in varying roles within any workplace. Leading people, business units or projects requires a blend of technical know-how and interpersonal skills. Basic supervision requires individuals who understand what to do when faced with change, how to effectively communicate with others, and how to empower employees and enable them to overcome the daily challenges they face. Most importantly, they create an atmosphere where each team member can contribute to the overall success of the organization. As more experienced facilities management professionals (FMs) continue to retire, organizations across the globe face not only a talent vacuum with respect to skilled engineering personnel but also the pain of filling leadership vacancies in their facilities management operations. This pain is not only being felt across the built environment. Government agencies and organizations from all corners of the public and private sectors depend on knowledgeable leaders to ensure the integrity of their business continuity. We designed the Certified Professional Supervisor (CPS) credential to certify the skills of those professionals who possess the requisite combination of expertise in organizational dynamics and adeptness in motivation techniques that forms the basis of effective leadership.
Our subject matter experts continuously review the content presented in the CPS program to ensure it reflects the most up-to-date knowledge base regarding communication skills, conflict resolution, business and employment law, and team building strategies. Earning the CPS showcases both the technical and soft skills required to lead people and projects in the global economy.
