OVERVIEW

Since 1975, thousands of professionals have earned AFE’s prestigious Certified Plant Engineer® (CPE) credential.  With content covering electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, economics, management, federal safety regulations, HVAC&R, preventive maintenance, plus controls and instrumentation; the CPE provides a comprehensive certification of a professional’s high level of competence with respect to the various disciplines involved in facilities engineering.  In fact, a significant number of the professionals credentialed through this program hold a professional engineer (PE) license in their home state.  CPEs are everywhere.  They manage the operations of the myriad facilities throughout the public and private sectors of the global economy.  CPEs serve in the United States Armed Forces, US Corps of Army Engineers, and throughout the various executive agencies of the United States Government.  The organizations for which CPEs work manufacture everything from food to pharmaceuticals and from aluminum to plastics.  Earning the CPE is a distinction unlike any other.
